Originally a t-shirt design made for Metallica’s 72 Seasons tour. John set out to make a design in the classic tradition of Metallica shirts, using imagery and lyrical themes he found throughout 72 Seasons. In this art he revisited some of his older processes and techniques: making a sketch, a black and white drawing, and a watercolor-painted keyplate.
